old love is like a river
nothing can stop it from getting to its mouth, the Ocean. mountains and rocks may stand in the way but the old river always finds its long way round.
Old love is only understood by some, not everyone gets it. Infact, only the lovers know how far they have come. Only them know how sweet it is, when they stand at the mouth of the river and look back at the fond memories with a unique perspicacity and smile at the delightful golden sunset drawing them into the future. A new life, a new future begins as the old river dissolves into the ocean.
I met Henry a couple of years back through The Volkswagen Anonymous Club and our first interaction was pushing his beetle (Betty) for 3 kilometers in the dark somewhere near Kajiado with no success in reviving it back to life. There were all indications that the car should be abandoned there in the wild but Henry was resolved not to give up. That day I learnt a lot about Henry’s commitment and character, He never ever forgets the good in something, however small. Now he owns and drives the most eye catching beetle in east africa. There’s no sweeter love than that shared by Henry and Sue and you should see her giggle whenever they are talking. Old love is indescribable and thats why we were there to witness this colourful ceremony, a celebration of old love. Congrats Sue and Henry, May your love age like fine wine, Vintage love
