I kept turning the pages, my eyes sifting through the words and translating them into an eight dimensional visual. The scent of the old paper sort of added flavor and a twist to the plot. I had possessed an old arm chair , well hidden between two shelves of book in the children’s section of the library which I knew all the call numbers by heart. The library had poor artificial lighting and that meant everyone had to go home when the sun set. That was in april 1996, libraries were the heart of knowledge, entertainment and enlightenment. Flash Forward 2016, children sections in libraries are empty waiting for the day they will instal free Wifi, iPads and USB ports! *Sighs* People who appreciate literacy are scarce and thats exactly what struck me about Edna and Edwin or the Eds.
On the very first time we met, Edwin prayed for the meeting and specifically prayed over my art and business and I’ve never been more moved. As we bonded I learnt how they had met, their background and what inspires them. They reminded me alot of myself in the nineties before I lost my ways and resorted to watching movies in 2hrs rather than read a story for a month! They had themed their wedding day around a rustic and print model and I must say there was Ed and Ed ‘written’ all over the place.
they say a man’s shoe tells alot..
moment of fame
The decor was simple but out of this world! who knew you could do this with paper!!
the detail.. wacha tu
Caption this “Is she on outside?”
when your father in law to be hugs you this tight
We then headed to the school library for the photo shoot. Generally, things that happen in libraries 😀
that was too much fun! we had to stop and go back to the reception
with the toasts done we had plenty of time for more photos
This was one day that will be very hard to forget for many of us but more so for Edna and Edwin. We wish them a happy and blessed marriage. Feel free to leave your wishes and comments below here
