Me and the Farmer| Wairimu and Kimani
The roar of Kimani’s tractor would always wake us up way before the sun rose and while the other farm workers would grumble, that sound was musical to me. It would mean another day and chance to spend with Kim. I would find myself taking a mug of “ucuru” to him at about 10am before serving him githeri for Lunch when the sun was overhead. Talk started going round the farm that me, Wairimu wa Mburu and Kimani were an item. The girls whispered behind my back and all of a sudden, it felt like the whole world was watching. One day, with sweat dripping down his forehead and the January sun was taking its toll on Kimani, just like Germany snowed on brazil, He went down on one knee and asked me “ Wairimu, will you marry me?” This is my story, which we discovered steve had been taking snaps of, enjoy!
This is pic of Wairimu’s parents on their wedding day, spot the resemblance 😛
